- Michelob Ultra is leveraging its status as the global beer sponsor of the NBA to give fans a chance to play some hoops on a team’s home court and meet some legendary players from around the league.
- The “Play Like a Pro” promotion will enable five fans (and their plus-ones) of the Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, New York Knicks and Orlando Magic to play in the team’s arena.
- Last month, the brand aired a Super Bowl commercial featuring Willem Dafoe and Catherine O’Hara as pickleball sharks who competed against others – all the way through a tournament level – for Michelob Ultras.
“We’re offering basketball fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience to ‘Play For An ULTRA’ on some of the most iconic courts in the world,” said Ricardo Marques, SVP of marketing for Michelob ULTRA, in a statement. “With ‘Play Like A Pro,’ Michelob ULTRA isn’t just bringing fans closer to the game they love but putting them at the center of it all with unprecedented access to their favorite courts and players.”
A television commercial touting the promotion features shots of the arenas and the teams, with a voiceover setting up the premise of playing in the hallowed arenas. The commercial directs fans to a website where they can enter the sweepstakes for the experience. The contest is open to U.S. residents 21 and over who enter between March 3 and 14.
